Car star tours
Since the Madarasi Hargita and our guesthouse are located in the central part of Szeklerland, all historical monuments, cities and natural attractions of the region can be reached from us as part of one-day trips by car.
The recommended routes can be traveled independently.
We do not provide a tour guide.
Segesvár, Kőrispatak and Énlaka: 84.6 km; 74.8 km; 64 km
Traditional settlements help to take over the atmosphere of the region. It is worth trying the traditional dishes and drinks. Our top recommendation is the historical center of Segesvár, which is part of the World Heritage, the free straw hat museum in Kőrispatak and the runic monument of the church in Enlaka.
Gyilkos Lake and Békás Gorge - Gyergyószárhegy: 60.7 km; 63.7 km
Uniquely impressive natural values and cultural sights provide relaxation along the route. The gorge valley of Lake Gyilkos is one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Transylvania, and the Gyergyószerárhegy Castle can be seen nearby.
St. Anna lake, Mossy peat bog and Torjai Büdösbarlang: 77.6 km; 116 km
Take a dip in the sea surrounded by history, in Lake St. Anna, get close to nature on the peat bog, and finally recharge in the beneficial environment of the cave, which can provide a solution to many musculoskeletal, circulatory or blood pressure problems.
Farkaslaka, Korond, Parajd and Szováta: 45.4 km; 60.6 km; 71 km; 80.4 km
The ancient settlements - Korond, for example, has existed since 1333 and Farkaslaka since 1566 - help to capture the atmosphere of the region. It is worth trying the traditional dishes and drinks. After that you can relax in the Parajd salt mine, which also serves to preserve your health, or take a dip in the special Medve Lake in Sovata, thanks to its high salt content, in the gentle lap of nature.
Zetelaka – Székelyudvarhely (and Szejkefürdő) – Székelyderzs: 24.3 km; 35.8 km; 53.9 km
The route offers natural values, recreation and cultural attractions. It is definitely worth seeing the Zetelaka Reservoir and the numerous Sekler gates in the city, and the town center and County Hall in Székelyudvarhely. The wine museum in Szejkefürdő, where wine from the Sarolta spring can be consumed free of charge during opening hours, and the Székelyderzs church, which is part of the World Heritage, are not to be missed.
Tusnádfürdő - Brassó - Törcsvár: 77.6 km; 142 km; 145 km
Active relaxation, culture and mysticism in one. It is worth starting the tour in Törcsvar and going back from there. Dracula Castle can be interesting and exciting for both young and old, and in Brasov (Brassó) you can get to know many impressive architectural masterpieces. After the tiring sightseeing, we recommend a relaxing bath in Tusnád as the last stop.
